Our Commitment to Children

The Delaney Wright Fine Arts Preschool was founded to offer an early childhood alternative to the product-oriented, highly competitive, "hurry and grow up fast" mentality that permeates many of our educational arenas today. Children need to grow into who they will be at their own paces, develop in their unique styles, and take with them fun and wonderful memories of childhood.

Our philosophy is simple: provide a child with a learning environment that is filled with music and singing, dancing, enriched language, storytelling, opportunities for artistic and creative expression, dramatic play, and plenty of discovery and exploration experiences, and that child will blossom intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically, while gaining a life-long love of learning.

To round out our exciting environment, we offer a meaningful, cognitively and developmentally appropriate curriculum that sparks a child's natural curiosity and sense of wonder, while enhancing his or her motivation to learn.

Our Founder

Shelley Acton, has been teaching young children since 1977. She has a B.A. and M.S. in psychology, a multiple-subjects teaching credential, a leaning handicapped specialist credential, and preschool director certification. 

She is a mother who values the unique stages of a child's life, which is reflected in her developmental philosophy.
